Tier1 Investor Visa
The Tier 1 (Investor) visa opens a safe and fast application channel for investor applicants and their families. The investment route requires a substantial investment of £2m/£5m or £10m in shares or corporate bonds in an active UK business.
Tier 1 applications are fast: processing time is only 3-4 weeks. The initial visa is valid for 3 years and 4 months (or 3 years if applying from within the UK). After the initial visa expires, the applicant can obtain a renewal valid for 2 years as long as the application requirements are met. Applicants who have lived in the UK for 5 consecutive years can apply for permanent residence (ILR) with an investment of 5 million pounds after 3 years of the first visa, or with an investment of 10 million pounds, they can directly apply for permanent residence after 2 years of the first visa. There is no English language requirement when applying for an initial visa, and an inspection is required when applying for ILR permanent residence.
